Robin Rhode features in Dessins san limite at Centre Pompidou, a group exhibition tracing the reinvention of drawing from the 20th century to now. The exhibition collates works from the collection, 'organised around four modalities: studying, recounting, tracing and animating.'

Robin Rhode presents a new body of work at Nirox Foundation that extends this language into sculptural, painted wall reliefs. 'These works translate the immediacy of performance into material permanence: gestures once fleeting become etched into surface, thickened into depth, and stilled as form.'

Memory is the Weapon, Robin Rhode's survey exhibition, travels to Kunsthalle Krems. Curated by Uta Ruhkamp, the exhibition features a representative selection of works from nearly 20 years of Rhode’s artistic output and will now run till 1 November.

Edson Chagas, Nicholas Hlobo, Pieter Hugo, Moshekwa Langa, Zanele Muholi, Robin Rhode, Penny Siopis, Guy Tillim feature in Crossing Night: Regional Identities X Global Context at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, a new iteration of the exhibition first shown in Oaxaca, Mexico. The exhibition 'addresses the concerns, thoughts, and desires of contemporary artists from the Southern African region as they grapple with the legacy of post-colonial structures'.

Stevenson's Prinsengracht office hosts Jericho, a presentation of new works by Robin Rhode, commissioned by Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg for Memory is the Weapon, his career survey at the museum. For these new series, Rhode has created his signature visual poems on walls in the ancient city of Jericho.

Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg presents Memory is the Weapon, an overview of two decades of work by Robin Rhode. The show features more than 800 square metres of digital animations, photographic series, drawings, sculptural elements and performances.

Robin Rhode features in The Street: Where The World Is Made at MAXXI. Curated by Hou Hanru, this group show observes 'the street as a place of sharing and innovation, the principal laboratory for artists, architects and creatives'.

Work by Robin Rhode features in Gridology at Lehmann Maupin. The show spans painting, photography, and mixed media sculpture, offering 'contemporary contextualization on the minimalist grid'.

Robin Rhode shows photographic works in NOW: Jenny Saville, Sara Barker, Christine Borland, Robin Rhode, Markus Schinwald, Catherine Street at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The NOW series of exhibitions was launched in March 2017 and reflects the National Gallery’s ambition to share contemporary art with a wider audience.

Robin Rhode has been awarded the 2018 Zurich Art Prize. The jury expressed enthusiasm about Rhode's practice of integrating the audience as well as his handling of constructivist borrowings. Rhode will produce a solo exhibition in October 2018 at Museum Haus Konstruktiv as part of the prize.

Lehmann Maupin presents a solo exhibition by Robin Rhode titled The Geometry of Colour. In this exhibtion the artist 'sets forth to make a case for the role of art in developing the skepticism and spirituality he views as necessary to challenge a surge of global divisiveness'.

Under the Sun, a survey exhibition by Robin Rhode, opens at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. This is the artist's first institutional show in Israel and spans the breadth of his oeuvre.

Robin Rhode's Pan's Opticon Studies is included in Shifting Views: People & Politics in Contemporary African Art, an exhibition drawn from the collection of the Baltimore Museum of Art

Making Africa: A Continent of Contemporary Design, curated by Amelie Klein and Okwui Enwezor, includes work by Robin Rhode, Anton Kannemeyer, Guy Tillim and Zanele Muholi. The show opened at Vitra Design Museum in Germany and travelled to Guggenheim Bilbao, Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona and Kunsthal Rotterdam.

Robin Rhode had a solo exhibition, titled The Moon is Asleep, at the SCAD Museum, Savannah, Georgia. His digital animations showed recently at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, North Carolina.
